#samplesunday success!

Well, it’s Monday and us writers are recovering from a manic weekend of self-promotion and social interaction. It’s almost a relief to come to work! ;-)

Anyway, I just wanted to give a big shout out to #samplesunday and say what a HUGE success it has been once again.

For those of you who don’t know what it is (where have you been for the last two months!?) here’s a quick overview:

Writers – post a sample (couple of chapters, short story, book blurb etc) on your site or blog. Stick the hashtag #samplesunday in the post title. (It is advised to do this on Saturday and then have it ready for midnight to catch the different time zones)

Then, at 11.59 on Saturday evening, with your tired fingers hovering over those already-worn keys, press ‘publish’!

Copy the link to your blog/site where the post is hosted and any other hashtags or words that you want in the Twitter message and head on over to Kindleboards and Facebook. There, you will find that the wondrous Mr. Gerald Hornsby (or one of his elves) has posted a thread for you to stick the link into.

Head back over to Twitter and Tweet the link and hashtag.

Then, click on the #samplesunday hashtag and look at all the other poor, desperate, indie writers who have also spent all of Saturday evening twitching at their pc’s and RT their Tweets at regular intervals throughout Sunday.

Simples! ;-)

Hopefully, you will see a great deal more hits to your blog/site and if you’re really lucky, you might just sell a few books because people think your writing is fab. If nothing else, you will be left with a warm, fuzzy feeling in your tummy, because you have helped your fellow authors.

Sunday’s will never be the same again!

Saffina
